Manchester United target Ilkay Gundogan to decide on future after international duty

Ilkay Gündoğan has stated on his official Facebook page that he will make a decision regarding his future after Germany’s Euro 2016 qualification game against Gibraltar.

The statement reads, “I’m not gambling financially or using delaying tactics. I will reveal my decision regarding my future as soon as possible.

“However, only after the season has ended and our important game for the European Championship qualifier with the national team will I decide.”

The Red Devils are now the bookies favourites to sign Gündoğan from Dortmund. Sky Bet slashed Gündoğan to sign for United’s odds from 5/2 to 1/2. Barcelona remain at 2/1 while Bayern Munich have risen from 13/8 to 4/1.

Louis van Gaal side have also been made favourites to sign Gündoğan at Bet Victor and UniBet.

Manchester United betting sponsor Bwin posted a tweet welcoming Gündoğan to Old Trafford before swiftly deleting it yesterday.

The Germany international has five assists and three goals in 33 appearances for Dortmund despite spending much of the season out with a back injury. Gündoğan is almost certain to leave the Bundesliga giants over the summer.
