Maribor v Liverpool Confirmed lineup – Klopp gives Karius the nod amid injury headache

Liverpool take on Maribor in the first of the double-header against the Slovenian giants in the Champions League Match Day 3.

The Reds have got their European campaign off to a slow start after failing to defeat Sevilla at home and being held to a 1-1 draw by Spartak Moscow.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has a number of injury concerns heading into the game.

Klopp will be unable to call up his star forward Sadio Mane who is injured for up-to six weeks.

Meanwhile Adam Lallana and Nathaniel Clyne are also sidelined for the Maribor clash.

Klopp has decided to star Emre Can in midfield alongside Wijnaldum and Milner.

The only major surprise is captain Jordan Henderson being dropped for the clash but that could have something to do with Klopp focusing on next weekends game against Tottenham.

The forward three will be comprised of Salah, Coutinho and Firmino.

Klopp already stated in his press conference that Karius will start the game ahead of Simon Mignolet.
