Marin does not regret joining Chelsea

during the UEFA Europa League Final between SL Benfica and Chelsea FC at Amsterdam Arena on May 15, 2013 in Amsterdam, Netherlands.

Chelsea winger Marko Marin has revealed he does not regret joining the Blues and put down his lack of playing time down to unfortunate injuries.

“I personally thought that it’s about time to make the next step,” Marin told Kicker.

“I joined Chelsea and the pre-season was super, until I sustained an injury. [I got] a muscle bundle tear [and was] out for three months. That makes it difficult… I have learned a lot, and have never rued making this step.”

Marin £7 million transfer from Werder Bremen in 2012 but failed to settle in and has made a grand total of just 16 appearances for the Blues.

The Germany international never managed to settle in at Chelsea but has gained experience playing across Europe.

The 26-year-old has spent the last few seasons out on loan at Anderlecht, Sevilla, Fiorentina and most recently Trabzonspor where he is currently playing his trade.

Marin has managed to remain relatively injury free this season and has four goals and two assists in all competitions this season.

Trabzonspor are currently in 9th place on 27 points and take on Osmanispor next in the league. Marin is expected to play for the Black Sea Storm on the weekend.
