Marko Marin unsure on Chelsea future

Germany international Marko Marin has revealed that he is unsure whether Chelsea will keep him on.

Marin joined Chelsea on a £7 million move from Werder Bremen back in 2012 but has made just 16 appearances.

The 26-year-old struggled to settle in and was subsequently loaned out to Anderlecht, Fiorentina, Sevilla and most recently Trabzonspor.

Marin underlined that he does not expect to be part of Cheslea’s plans for next season but has not ruled out the possibility of a future in London.

“It’s difficult. You not only need a few good matches at Trabzon, but a very strong year. You never know, but right now it does not look like it,” Marin told Kicker.

Marin also stated that he never regretted joining Chelsea despite finding it difficult to get playing time at the club.

“I personally thought that it’s about time to make the next step,” Marin said of his decision to move to west London. “I joined Chelsea and the pre-season was super, until I sustained an injury. [I got] a muscle bundle tear [and was] out for three months. That makes it difficult… I have learned a lot, and have never rued making this step,” he added.

Marin became one of 26 players to be loaned out by Chelsea when he joined Trabzonspor this summer. The Blues also loaned out Kenneth Omeruo to fellow Super League club Kasimpasa.

The Germany international is expected to start for Trabzonspor against Osmanlispor at the Avni Aker stadium tomorrow.
