Mersin fixture list like a ‘prank’ says Çalımbay [divider]
The Mersin fixture list is like a prank according to manager Rıza Çalımbay.
“Galatasaray is in good form, we are aware of that. We know that our opponent is strong and we will play a difficult match,” Çalımbay said in his pre-match press conference before the Galatasaray game.
“I mean, we are playing both Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe away games one after the other. Between that is a cup match, it is like a prank.
“This is a tough fixture, but if we want to be comfortable in the second half, we have to win points from this. I trust my team and I believe we can do great things.”
Mersin are currently in sixth place but have lost three out of their last four away games.
Galatasaray are in second place and have won their last three Süper Lig games under recently appointed manager Hamza Hamzaoğlu.
