Arda Turan lavished praise on Barcelona teamamte Lionel Messi in a recent interview with Ara Diari.
The Turkish international described Messi as being ‘incredible’ and on another level compared to other players in every sense both physically and mentally.
Turan said: “Everything about him is incredible. He’s so quick at everything, control, dribbling, going into challenges.
“But the most important thing is his tactical intelligence. He is incredible, he surpasses everyone. He is a really intelligent footballer.”
Turan did however, underline that he did not join Barcelona solely to play alongside Messi. The Turkish international stated that he is at Barca to win trophies and not for a kick around with the star studded squad.
The 29-year-old also revealed that in his opinion Messi is the best player in the history of the game.
“No, I am here to win the Champions League. Messi, for me, is the best player in history, but I came here to win titles,” he added.
Turan is currently on international duty and starred in the Crescent-Stars 2-1 victory over Sweden at the Antalya Arena over the weekend.
The bearded winger is also expected to featured against Austria in tonight’s international friendly before returning to Spain.
Turkey will extend their unbeaten run to 13 games if they avoid defeat to the Austrians this evening.
