Mesut Özil aiming for all three points in Tbilisi
Mesut Özil has stated that he is aiming to take all three points back to Germany when Die Mannschaft take on Georgia in Tbilisi on Sunday.
The Arsenal playmaker tweeted, “Two days left until the match in Georgia. We have to take the three points to Germany! #training #GEOGER.”
Arsenal star Mesut Özil wore the captain’s armband for the last 25 minutes in Germany’s 2-2 draw in the international game against Australia. Özil took captaincy of the team after Sami Khedira was substituted.
Germany international of Turkish origin Ilkay Gündoğan also started against Australia. Georgia will take on Germany next on Sunday in their Euro 2016 qualifying game.
Özil became the first player of Turkish origin to lift a World Cup in Brazil last summer. The 26-year-old also won the FA Cup in his first season at Arsenal and has a chance to defend the cup this year with a semi-final match up against Reading at Wembley.
