Mesut Ozil 'delighted' with Arsenal 2-1 win over Manchester City

Mesut Ozil has stated that he is delighted following Arsenal’s 2-1 win over Manchester City in the Premier League.

The Gunner’s went four points clear of City following yesterday’s win and are now within two points of leaders Leicester City.

The 27-year-old received a a rating of 8.1 from Whoscored for his performance on the night. Ozil took 59 touches on the ball, made two key passes and maintained a passing accuracy of 89%.

“I am just happy to help the team. All my team-mates help me so I can play my own game. I try to do my best,” Ozil told Sky Sports 1 after the game.

“We have had a lot of games in recent weeks, difficult games. So we are very happy to win against City. I am delighted with the three points.”

Ozil provided two assists during last nights game taking his assist tally for the season up to 15. The Germany international is now just one assist off equalling Thierry Henry’s record of 16.

The World Cup winner has been in sensational form this season and has won back-to-back Vitality Arsenal Play of the Month awards over the last two months.
