Arsenal star Jack Wilshere has stated that he was excited following his sides acquisition of Mesut Ozil from Real Madrid.
The England international stated that Ozil gave the club a ‘massive lift’ when he arrived from the La Liga Giants.
“When he arrived, the players were buzzing and the fans were buzzing and I think that gave us all a massive lift,” Wilshere told the club’s official website.
“I remember watching him a few times and thinking that this player really understands football. You can tell he really understands football and to play alongside him is something special.”
Ozil has been in sensational form this season and has won back-to-back Vitality Arsenal Play of the Month awards over the last two months.
The World Cup winner has played a key role in the north London based side reaching the Champions League Last 16 for the 15th consecutive season.
Arsenal take on Manchester City next Monday in a critical league encounter which could see the Gunners go top. Ozil has won back-to-back FA Cups since joining Arsenal from Real Madrid.
