Mesut Ozil is better than Chelsea’s star midfielder Cesc Febragas according to Arsenal loanee Wojciech Szczesny.
The Polish international stated that Ozil has eclipsed the Spanish midfielder this season after racking up 16 assists by Christmas.
“We used to have Fabregas and I couldn’t imagine anyone playing any better than him in the middle of the park, but then Ozil came and it turned out that you can,’”Szczesny told Laczy Nas Pilka.
Febragas spent eight years at Arsenal before joining the La Liga giants Barcelona. The Spanish international later signed for Arsenal’s rivals Chelsea.
Ozil is expected to keep his place in Arsenal’s starting line-up in today’s clash with Bournemouth in the Premier League.
The Gunners are eight points behind league leaders Leicester City and are three points behind rivals Tottenham who sit in second place.
Ozil has 16 assists in the Premier League this season and is just four assists away from matching Henry’s record record tally of 20.
Arsenal can move up to second place with a win over Bournemouth following Manchester City’s defeat to league leaders Leicester City yesterday.
