Mesut Özil: ‘I’ve worked hard and I’m happy to be back’

Mesut Özil has stated that he is delighted to be back in action after his knee injury at the beginning of the season.

The Germany international was ruled out of action for three months following an knee injury he sustained during Arsenal’s defeat to Chelsea.

“I worked really hard when I was injured,” Ozil told Sky Sports.

“It was the first time in my career that I’ve been out for that long (three months).

“And I missed it. I’ve worked hard and I’m happy to be back. I’m enjoying it and I think that shows on the pitch.”

Özil has the most assists in the Premier League this year. The World Cup winner actually has the third best minutes per assist rate in Premier League history.

The 26-year-old has a total of four goals and seven assists in 21 appearances for Arsenal this season.
