Mesut Ozil left out of Arsenal team against Newcastle due to illness [divider]
Arsenal playmaker Mesut Özil has been left out of the team against Newcastle United at St James Park due to illness, the club revealed.
The Gunners put an end to speculation that Özil had been dropped from the team via their official Twitter account.
Arsenal FC tweeted: “@MesutOzil1088 misses today’s game through illness #NUFCvAFC.”

The details of the illness have not yet been disclosed but Özil has been left out of the squad.
Özil has been left outside the Arsenal squad for the first time since returning from injury.
The Gunners go into the game third in the Premier League and will be able to close the gap with second placed Manchester City to just one point with a win against Newcastle.
Arsenal were knocked out of the Champions League Last 16 against Monaco mid-week but still have an outside chance at winning the league and will face Reading in FA Cup semi-final.
