Mesut Ozil ‘looks special’ says Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard

Arsenal beat Croatian giants Dinamo Zagreb 3-0 at the Emirates to keep their hopes of reaching the Champions League Last 16 alive.

Mesut Özil scored the opening goal for the Gunners and had another impressive performance.

The World Cup winner was praised by Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard who also featured as a BT Sport pundit covering the game.

Gerrard did however, reveal that Özil’s languid style does sometimes work against him when results are not going Arsenal’s way.

“If things are going well he looks special but if you are coming off a few defeats he looks very casual in the ways he plays he is very relaxed and makes it look easy but that goes against him sometimes,” Gerrard said speaking on BT Sport after the game.

Özil has a total of three goals and 11 assists in all competitions this season. The 28-year-old has already broke two records this season first providing assists in six consecutive Premier League games and then setting up a goal in seven back to back league games.

Bayern Munich beat Olympiakos 4-0 in the other game in the group which leaves Arsenal having to beat the Greek giants on the road.
