Mesut Ozil ready for tonights Germany v USA clash

Mesut Özil has taken to Twitter to show that he is ready for tonights friendly encounter between Germany and USA.

The Arsenal playmaker posted an image of himself training along with the caption “Matchday! #GERUSA #DFBTeam #DieMannschaft.”

Özil is expected to start for Germany tonight. The encounter takes place in Cologne and kick-off is at 19:45 (GMT).

The 26-Year-old will make his 65th appearance for Germany today if selected. The Arsenal play-maker has 18 goals for his national team making him the third highest scorer in the squad – behind Lukas Podolski & Bastian Schweinsteiger.

Germany defeated the USA in last summers World Cup in Brazil by a 1-0 scoreline in a final group encounter, although both teams still qualified for the knockout stages.

USA will be hoping to pull off another surprise win following their 4-3 victory over the Netherlands last Friday.

Özil provided nine assists and five goals in 32 appearances for Arsenal in all competitions this season.
