Mesut Ozil scores 2nd consecutive 'big match' goal following Arsenal win over Bayern Munich

Arsenal v Manchester Utd Mesut Ozil

Arsenal beat Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich 2-0 at the Emirates in their first victory of the 2015-16 Champions League campaign.

Mesut Özil started against Bayern and silenced his critics once against by scoring in his second consecutive big game within the span of a month.

The World Cup winner has been criticised in the past for going AWOL in big games and to be fair Özil had only scored twice in 22 big games going into the United game last week as Gary Neville revealed in an interview with the Telegraph.

“In 22 games against Chelsea, United, City, Liverpool and Tottenham, plus Champions League appearances, he has scored just two goals,” Neville told the Telegraph.

Özil did however, score in the 3-0 win against United before the international break and provided an assist.

The 27-year-old went onto throw the stats book out the window tonight as he scored in another big game this time against Bayern Munich in what was his second goal of the season.

The World Cup winner has a total of six assists and two assists in all competitions this season.
