Mesut Ozil has taken to social media to wish Arsenal’s star goalkeeper Petr Cech a happy birthday.
The Czech Republic international turned 34 today and has won the Premier League’s 2015/16 ‘Golden Glove’ award for the most clean sheets, after amassing 16 sheets.
Ozil uploaded a picture of himself alongside Cech along with the caption, “Happy Birthday, @petrcech! … and thanks for 16 clean sheets this season. #YaGunnersYa #AFC.”
Cech joined Arsenal from their London based rivals Chelsea at the start of the season.
Ozil joined Arsenal from Madrid back in September 2013 for a club record fee of £42 million.
The 27-year-old assisted 19 goals in the league this season, just one short of equalling the Premier League record of 20 set by Arsenal legend Thierry Henry.
Ozil has been included in the Germany national team squad which will travel to France this summer.
