Mesut Ozil has taken to social media to urge Arsenal fans to show their support at the upcoming encounter with Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League.
The Gunners host last seasons champions at the Emirates stadium on Tuesday evening.
Ozil uploaded a picture of himself in training along with the following caption. “Gooners! Tomorrow we need you more than ever as our 12th man against the #ucl cup holder at the #Emirates.
“Scream, support and encourage us over 90 minutes in every tackle and every situation.
“We already showed that against Bayern Munich – now we have to repeat such a performance on the pitch with your support from the stands!!!”
The Germany international is expected to return to Arsenal’s starting line-up after sitting out of the Gunners’ 0-0 draw with Hull City.
Ozil has been in great form for Arsenal this season and provided the assist for the Gunners last-gasp goal that saw them cut the gap between themselves and league leaders Leicester City to two points.
The World Cup winner has six goals in all competitions and 17 assists in the Premier League – the highest in the league.
