Mesut Ozil welcomes Cech transfer from Chelsea to Arsenal

Mesut Özil has taken to social media to welcome Arsenal’s new signing Petr Cech to Arsenal.

The experienced keeper has agreed to join Arsenal from Chelsea on a long-term contract for an undisclosed fee.

Özil posted the following tweet of his twitter page, “From blue to red – welcome @PetrCech to the @Arsenal family!”

Cech made over 400 appearances for Chelsea during his 11 year spell at the at Stamford Bridge.

The 33-year-old won four premier league titles, four FA Cups, three league cups, the Europa League and the UEFA Champions league at Chelsea.

Özil ended the 2014-15 season with his second consecutive FA Cup title.

The Germany international joined Arsenal for a club record £42.5 million from Real Madrid back in 2013. The Germany international provided nine assists and five goals in 32 appearances this season.

Arsenal finished the season in third place and will directly qualify to the UEFA Champions League group stages next season.
