Mesut Ozil has won the Arsenal ‘Vitality Player of the Month’ award for February. The World Cup winner has now picked up the award four times in the last five month.

Ozil won 36 percent of the vote with Petr Cech coming in at second and Danny Welbeck third according to the official Arsenal website.

The Arsenal star had an impressive month scoring against Bournemouth and Manchester United. Ozil also setup Danny Welbeck with the winner against Premier League leaders Leicester City as well as United.

The north London based club beat Leicester but succumbed to a 3-2 loss against United at Old Trafford. Arsenal have now gone a decade without a win against Old Trafford on the road.

The Gunners playmaker now has 18 assists in the league – the highest record in Europe’s top five leagues England, Spain, Italy, Spain and Germany. Ozil also has seven goals in all competitions this season.

The Germany international of Turkish origin is expected to start Arsenal against Swansea City at the Emirates this evening.

Arsenal are currently in third place six points behind leaders Leicester City but could move into second with a victory if Spurs lose against West Ham.
