Mesut Ozil wins Arsenal Vitality Player of the Month award

Arsenal star Mesut Özil has won his second Vitailty Player of the Month award since the turn of the year.

Özil was voted Arsenal player of the month for April, Alexis Sanchez, who scored three times in April, finished in second place and Francis Coquelin in third according to the official Arsenal website.

The 26-year-old was also voted the PFA Fans’ Player of the Month for April.

Arsenal star Ozil unleashes his summer swag

The six finalists for the month of April were Özil, Christian Benteke, Eden Hazard, Yannick Bolasie, Esteban Cambiasso and Ander Herrera.

Özil played an important role in Arsenal reaching the FA Cup final and breaking into the Premier League top-two.

The World Cup winner scored and provided an assist in the 4-1 win over Liverpool and was praised for his performance against Chelsea last week.

Özil is expected to start against Hull City at the KC Stadium today.

The Gunners will move into second place with a win and would still have a game in hand over current Manchester City who currently occupy the second spot.
