Motta: ‘I would expect Liverpool to struggle in Istanbul’ [divider]
Beşiktaş left-back Ramon Motta believes Liverpool will struggle in Istanbul when the two sides meet in the Europa League Round of 32.
“I always wanted to play against Liverpool,” Motta said.
“I wanted Liverpool because these are the type of team you have to play and beat if you want to get noticed.
“Our playing style enables us to compete with English opposition, we have proven that four times already this season.
“The decider is going to be the game at Anfield because I cannot see them coping with the pressure and atmosphere of Istanbul.
“I would expect Liverpool to struggle in Istanbul.
“We are performing well as a team and are having a great season, we have no fear.”
Beşiktaş have faced Premier League opposition four times this season.
The Black Eagles lost 1-0 on aggregate over two legs against Arsenal in the Champions League playoff round and recorded a win and a draw against Tottenham in the Europa League.
Beşiktaş are currently first in the Süper Lig with 29 points from 13 games.
