Dundee United striker Nadir Çiftçi scored in Dundee United’s 2-1 win over Scottish giants Celtic.

Goals from Çiftçi and Stuart Armstrong took United just four point behind Celtic in the league table.

The 22-year-old striker now has eight goals and five assists in 16 league appearances this season.

Çiftçi joined Dundee on a free transfer from NAC Breda last summer.

Dundee manager Jackie McNamara revealed that he was delight with the win after the game.

“You’ve got to perform like that with a bit of luck week in, week out,” McNamara explained.

“It’s a big ask. Aberdeen will say the same. We can only do our best and see where we are at the end of the season.

“I’m delighted with the effort and commitment and I think the players gave everything they had. They were absolutely knackered at the end.

“We rode our luck. Celtic put us under a lot of pressure.”
