Napoli green light transfer talks for £21m Arsenal target – Gunners have held negotiations with agent

Napoli chairman Aurelio De Laurentiis has given the green light for transfer talks with Barcelona star Arda Turan to go ahead according to reports in Turkey.

Turkish sports outlet Fanatik quote De Laurentiis as saying that he would sanction a move for Turan.

“If he is the player we require we will give the go ahead for transfer talks to begin, we will consider the situation,” he was quoted as saying.

Turan has been closely linked with a Barcelona exit this summer despite having three-years remaining on his current contract.

The Turkish international faces an uncertain future following confirmation that head coach Luis Enrique will leave at the end of the season.

Enrique played a key role in signing Turan in 2015 but Turan has struggled to lock down a regular starting position.

Despite not playing as often as he may have hoped, Turan still has 13 goals and seven assists this season.

Turan has also been closely linked with Premier League giant Arsenal over the past few months.

The attacking midfielder is on Arsenal’s radar according to Mundo Deportivo.

Per the source, the Gunners have already held talks with his agent Ahmet Bulut and Barcelona are prepared to accept offers worth £21 million.

Barcelona have yet to release a statement regarding plans regarding Turan’s future.
