Napoli have joined the race to sign Benfica fullback Maxi Pereira according to Fanatik.
The Italian giants could face stiff competition from Galatasaray, Liverpool and Arsenal.
Italian journalise Tancredi Palmeri recently tweeted that Galatasaray have made an enquiry for the Benfica.
Palmeri tweeted: “Galatasaray have contacted Benfica’s Maxi Pereira.”
Galatasaray are in the market for a full-back this summer with Emmanuel Eboue and Tarık Çamdal set to leave.
Full-back Veysel Sarı was also sold to Kasımpaşa in the winter leaving Galatasaray lacking strength and depth at both left and right back.
The departure of Eboue will free up funds for wages if the Istanbul giants were to sign Pereira.
The Lions are reported to have contacted Pereira through his Uruguayan international compatriot Fernando Muslera who also happens to be Galatasaray’s goalkeeper.
Arsenal and Liverpool are also reported to be interested in the 30-year-old fullback according to the Express.
The Uruguayan international has three goals and nine assists for Benfica in all competitions this season.
