New Man City signing targeting debut against Man Utd

Manchester City’s summer signing Ilkay Gundogan is targeting a return from injury ahead of the seasons Manchester derby.

According to the Daily Star Gundogan is targeting City’s Premier League clash with West Ham on August 28 for his debut and wants to be fully fit for Man City’s clash with Manchester United on September 10.

Gundogan joined City from the Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund for £21 million however, has been ruled out for the opening weeks of the league due to a knee injury.

The 25-year-old dislocated his knee while still at Dortmund which almost cost him a move to the Premier League giants.

Gundogan was however subsequently omitted from Joachim Low’s Germany national team squad which competed at Euro 2016 over the summer.

The Germany international is currently in Manchester undergoing treatment on his knee.
