Newcastle & Crystal Palace step up efforts to sign star striker, club president increases asking price to €23m

Besiktas president Fikret Orman has made it clear that he wants to keep star striker Cenk Tosun at the club over the winter transfer window.

A source close to the club revealed to Turkish-Football that interested clubs will have to now offer €23 million for Tosun.

Besiktas have increased his asking from from €20 million to €23 million.

Crystal Palace and Newcastle meanwhile have stepped up efforts to prize the star striker away from the Istanbul giants.

Both sides continue to closely scout the 26-year-old who already has 10 goals in 15 games, including four in the Champions League.

Tosun actually has four goals and one assist for the Group G leaders, only Harry Kane and Cristiano Ronaldo have been directly involved in more goals (6).

The Turkish international has another two-years remaining on his current deal.

Tosun played an important role in Besiktas winning the league title over the past two seasons.

The Germany born striker recently revealed that he wants to win the Super Lig for a third successive time but that he also has his mind on a move to the Premier League.
