Newcastle & Everton face competition from German giants for £20m striker target

Borussia Dortmund have joined the ever expanding list of clubs reported to interested in signing Besiktas striker Cenk Tosun.

A source close to Besiktas revealed to Turkish-Football that Dortmund have joined a long list of clubs regularly scouting the forward.

Dortmund have been impressed with the Turkish international after keeping close tabs on him this season.

The fact that Tosun was born in Germany and fluent in the language makes him even more attractive.

The 26-year-old rose through the Frankfurt youth ranks so is familiar with the Bundesliga style of football.

Everton, Tottenham and Crystal Palace are also in the race for Tosun.

The Magpies have been closely linked with the star striker this season but have been reluctant to meet the Black Eagles £20 million valuation.

Everton, Newcastle and Palace have all struggled to find the back of the net this season with 13, 11 and eight goals respectively.

Besiktas are not keen on selling their star man in January.

The Istanbul giants are in the title race hoping to win the championship for a third successive season.

Besiktas have also booked a place in the Champions League Last 16 becoming the first Turkish side to finish the group stage as leaders in the process.

Tosun has four goals and two assists in the competition – a club record.

in total the prolific forward has 10 goals and two assists in all competitions this season.
