Newcastle face battle from Juventus for £20m striker target Cenk Tosun

Newcastle United could face a transfer battle with Juventus to sign Besiktas star striker Cenk Tosun according to ESPN.

Per the source, the Italian giants are looking to beat the interested Premier League clubs for his signature.

Juventus are not however, exactly lacking depth upfront.

The reigning Serie A champions have plenty of options with Gonzalo Higuain, Mario Mandzukic and Paulo Dybala.

Tosun has however, been in brilliant form for the past few seasons.

Besiktas have won the league title for the past two seasons with the Turkish international playing a major role.

The 26-year-old already has 10 goals in 15 games this campaign including four goals and an assist in the Champions League.

Tosun is the highest scoring Besiktas player in Champions League history.

The Istanbul giants will finish Group G in first place if they avoid defeat at home against Porto on Tuesday.

Juventus could face competition from Premier League outfit Newcastle.

The Magpies have been scouting Tosun and are preparing a January offer according to Fotomac.

Tosun does have another two-years remaining on his contract and Besiktas value him as being worth £20 million.

Despite being a Turkish international Tosun would not face a work permit issue as he was born in Germany.

The prolific forward made his debut for Turkey in 2013 and has scored eight goals in 25 appearances.
