Newcastle pip Super Lig giants in race for Chelsea full-back after striking deal

Newcastle United have struck a deal with Chelsea over a loan move for Kenedy.

The Mirror report that Kenedy will join the newly promoted side on a temporary move.

The 21-year-old was nearing a move to Fenerbahce before reaching an agreement with the Magpies.

Turkish outlet Fotomac reported that Fenerbahce were preparing a loan offer.

Per the source, the Brazilian full-back was keen on a move to Turkey to get a clean break.

Chelsea were reportedly not keen on the Brazilian defender leaving the Premier League over the summer.

The Brazilian full-back was sent home early after posting offensive messages on social media about China.

Kenedy posted two videos on Instagram, one with a caption in Portuguese which translated as “Damn, China” and another of a security guard asleep which was tagged: “Wake up China. You idiot.”

Kenedy joined Watford on loan last season season but struggled with injuries and was returned to the Blues after making just one appearance.
