Newcastle United striker Seydou Doumbia is open to a move to Besiktas according to his agent Cristophe Payot.

The agent revealed that he has had no offers from Turkey but stated that if he were to receive a bid his client would consider it.

Payot was quoted by Medyaspor as saying: “I have not had an offer yet but if they [Turkish clubs] want him my phone is open to any call.”

“Doumbia wants to play Champions League football and would obviously join Besiktas if a deal was agreed.”

Besiktas won the league title last season and will play Champions League football. The Black Eagles first choice striker Mario Gomez is on-loan and the Istanbul giants are considering their options as he has yet to sign a permanent deal.

Doumbia was also closely linked with a move to Super Lig runners-up Fenerbahce last season.

The powerful striker still has another three-years remanning on his contract with his parent club Roma after joining Newcastle on loan.

Roma attempted to offload the Ivory Coast international to clubs across Europe in January, eventually agreeing terms with Newcastle.
