Newcastle Team News: Rising star left out of squad, star striker suspended

Newcastle United take on Brighton at the Amex stadium on Sunday having won their last three Premier League games.

This will be the 15th match between these two sides but the first time they meet in the Premier League.

Newcastle were the only side to beat Brighton both home and away in the Championship last season.

Rafa Benitez will still be without star striker Alexandar Mitrovic who serves the last of his three-match ban.

Florian Lejeune, Paul Dummett and Massadio Haidara are all doubts.

The Magpies will also be without rising star Dan Barlaser who has been left out of the provisional squad.

The midfielder of Turkish origin had been included in the previous two provision squad selections but is yet to make an appearance in the Premier League.

The 20-year-old has been in impressive form for the Newcastle reserve side providing two assists in four appearances in the Premier League 2.
