Newcastle U21 0-1 Middlesbrough U21: Barlaser unable to prevent Magpies defeat

Newcastle U21 were beaten 1-0 by Middlesbrough U21 at St James’ Park.

Turkish youth international Daniel Barlaser has signed a professional deal at Newcastle United according the official club website.

The 18-year-old midfielder has put pen to paper on a long-term deal.

Barlaser was born in Gateshead, Newcastle and has been a regular for Peter Beardsley’s Under-21s this season.

The young midfielder joined Newcastle aged nine and has been rising through the youth ranks.

The promising midfielder was part of the Newcastle first team matchday squad for December’s Capital One Cup quarter-final tie at Tottenham Hotspur.

Barlaser is of Turkish descent and represents the Turkish U-17 side at international level.

The 18-year-old has made 15 appearances for the Turkish national team at youth level.
