Newcastle United striker linked with Galatasaray move

Newcastle United’s star striker Papis Cisse has been linked with a move to Galatasaray.

The Mirror newspaper have reported that Cisse is a target for  Galatasaray when the transfer window opens next month.

Galatasaray have been on the lookout for a new striker since the start of the season and have previously been linked with Oumar Niasse and Loic Remy.

The tabloid newspaper goes onto state that Newcastle are open to bids for Cisse as they look to reshape their squad.

The 30-year-old striker has scored two goals in 10 Premier League games this season.

Galatasaray’s current top goal scorer is winger Lukas Podolski with nine goals in 20 games.

The Lions first choice striker Burak Yilmaz has seven goals while his back-up Umut Bulut has only managed to find the back of the net twice in 16 games.

Newcastle take on Tottenham this weekend in the Premier League. Galatasaray host Astana in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday and travel to rivals Besiktas next Monday.
