Besiktas are keen on the young midfielder and expected to make a move for the 20-year-old youngster.

The Black Eagles have a history of targeting young players of Turkish origin born outside Turkey.

Besiktas have had recent success signing Netherlands born Oguzhan Ozyakup from Arsenal, Germany born Gokhan Tore and Switzerland born Kerim Frei from Fulham.

The Eagles have managed to lure talented young players of Turkish origin with the promise of first team football as well as the opportunity for a title challenge and European club competition.

Besiktas are the reigning Turkish league title holders and almost certain to book Champions League football next season.

Barlaser was born in Gateshead, Newcastle and is of Turkish origin.

The 20-year-old has represented England and Turkey at youth international level and has the option to represent both sides at senior level.

The rising Newcastle star has established himself as a first-team regular for the Under-23s side after making his debut at that level in December 2013.

The young midfielder recently won the Wor Jackie trophy for Outstanding Young Talent at the Sport Newcastle award ceremony this year.
