Northern Ireland v Germany – probable line ups – Liverpool's Emre Can to be dropped again

Germany take on Norther Ireland in their final group stage game tonight as they look to cement top spot.

Joachim Low’s side recorded a win over Ukraine and a scoreless draw with Poland in their opening two games.

Mesut Ozil started both encounters and played the full 90 minutes. The 27-year-old provided an assist for Germany’s second goal against Ukraine.

However, Liverpool’s Emre Can has failed to break into the starting line-up and is yet to feature in this summers competition. The 22-year-old is once again expected to start on the bench for the World Champions.

Besiktas’ striker Mario Gomez come on during the draw against Poland but was unable to make a meaningful impact.

Ozil is one of eight Germany born ethnic Turks in the tournament. Can is the other Germany international of Turkish origin while Turkey has six Germany born players.
