Nürnberg set for 10% windfall when Arsenal target Gundogan is sold

Manchester City star

FC Nürnberg are set to receive a substantial windfall should Borussia Dortmund sell Ilkay Gündoğan over the summer transfer window.

According to Kicker, the Bundesliga 2 club have an agreement in place which will see them receive 10 percent of Gündoğan’s transfer fee when he is sold by Dortmund.

The money from Gündoğan’s transfer is expected to fund Nürnberg’s transfer spendings ahead of next season as they push to return to the Bundesliga.

Arsenal have been closely linked with Gündoğan this week by the Mirror. Manchester United, Barcelona and Bayern Munich are all understood to be interested in the 24-year-old.

Gündoğan rejected a contract extension deal with Dortmund and is expected to leave the Bundesliga outfit this summer.

“Gündoğan will be leaving Borussia Dortmund this summer, that is a fact. I am very confident we will see various clubs coming in for him,” Dortmund CEO Hans Joachim Watzke told SportBild.

The 24-year-old has five assists and three goals in 32 appearances for Dortmund despite spending much of the season out injured.
