On-loan Fenerbahçe winger Lazar Markovic scored the decisive goal in the 1-1 draw against Celtic that took his side through to the Europa League Round of 32.

The Serbian international hinted after the game that he could be tempted to leave Liverpool for Fenerbahçe at the end of his loan stay.

Markovic spoke to reporters after the game and said: “If I can stay at Fenerbahce, why not?”

The 21-year-old ended up scoring his first goal for the Yellow Canaries against the Scottish giants after making the most of Celtic goalkeeper Gordon’s error.

The on-loan Liverpool winger has one goal and one assist in 10 appearances for the Yellow Canaries in all competitions this season.

Markovic joined Liverpool on a £20 million move but failed to live up to his billing and settle in at the club – partly due to being played out of position by former manager Brendan Rodgers.

Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray are will be the two representatives from the Turkish Super League in the Europa League this season.
