On-loan Liverpool winger Lazar Markovic sustained an injury blow following  Fenerbahce’s 4-2 defeat at the hands of Antalyaspor at the Antalya stadium over the weekend.

Markovic was ruled out for two weeks but is expected to mark his return in the Istanbul derby against the Yellow Canaries main title challengers Besiktas.

Besiktas are currently two points behind Fenerbahce but have two games in hand and could go four points clear should they win both matches.

The Black Eagles beat Gaziantepspor 4-0 in their last game but take on Basaksehir, Genclerbirligi and Mersin before the all important derby clash against Fenerbahce in a three weeks time.

Markovic has featured in the Yellow Canaries last eight league games and started in the last six – all of which have ended in victories except the Antalyaspor defeat.

The 21-year-old winger joined the Reds on a £17.5 million transfer fee from Benfica under the management of Brendan Rodgers but was loaned to Fenerbahce over the summer on a one-year deal.
