Beşiktaş fullback Daniel Opare revealed that he had to make a few changes to his game in the Europa League Round of 32 second-leg against Liverpool.

Opare was only given the start because left-back Ramon Motta picked up a suspension in the first-leg.

The Ghana international is actually a right-back but was forced to play as a left-back due to squad limitations.

“I am a defensive player, obviously my position is right-back but I know how to play at left-back,” Opare told BJK Tv.

“I had to adapt my game a little against Liverpool but it was not a problem.”

Opare was considered the weakest link going into the game against the Reds but ended up being one of the best performers on the night.

The 24-year-old defended well, making two tackles, one interception and seven clearances.

Opare was also impressive going forwards, the fullback completed 81 passes at an 88 percent accuracy and caused the Reds problems with his dribbling ability.

The Ghana international also started on the weekend in the 2-2 draw against Balıkesirspor and scored.
