Over 25,000 Galatasaray Fans Turn Up To Welcome Radamel Falcao At Istanbul Airport Hours Before Arrival

Radamel Falcao is set to arrive in Istanbul, Turkey to complete his transfer from Monaco to Galatasaray today.

Over 25,000 Galatasaray fans turned up at the Istanbul airport hours before Falcao’s plane even landed.

Falcao boarded a private plane at Nice, France and is set to arrive at the Istanbul airport shortly.

The Colombia international was pictured wearing the Galatasaray shirt for the first time in photographs leaked from onboard the flight.

The Lions confirmed yesterday that official talks are underway with Falcao in a public disclosure announcement.

The announcement is a formality before announcing the transfer.

Current first-team striker Mbaye Diagne has yet to open his account this term and will become the Lions 10th signing this summer – joining the likes of Steven Nzonzi, Ryan Babel, Jean Michael Seri and Emre Mor.

Falcao has scored 83 goals in 139 appearances for Monaco since joining from Atletico Madrid for a reported £50m in 2013.

‘El Tigre’ was part of the Monaco side that won the Ligue 1 title under Leonardo Jardim in 2017.
