Ozil assists Arsenal in talks with Stuttgart over 19-year-old target compared to Zinedine Zidane
Mesut Ozil returned to form with a bang over the weekend scoring and providing an assist in the 5-2 away victory over Everton at Goodison Park.
It appears Ozil has also been assisting Arsenal off the field.
Nineteen-year-old Gunners target Berkay Ozcan revealed that Ozil has visited him in Germany and that they regularly hold talks.
“Mesut is like my older brother, we meet when there is the chance,” Ozcan told AA.
“We hold talks, he lets me know when he is in Germany as we use the same barber.
“He even took me out for a meal once.
“I actually copied his hair style with the blonde highlight tips.”
Ozcan also revealed that he is compared to Ozil and Zinedine Zidane.
“I am focused on developing, they liken me to Ozil and Zinedine Zidane,” he added.
“It is an honour to be compared to these types of players but I am focused on my own path.”
Turkish-Football revealed last season that Arsenal have been scouting a player in Germany of Turkish origin.
“I have been scouting some Turkish prospects including a Turkish kid in Germany, I watched him 2-3 weeks ago, he plays in central midfield,” Arsenal scout Jurgen Kost was quoted as saying by Turkish-Football.

Ozcan also revealed that Arsenal are in talks with his agent and has been keeping tabs on him for two years.
“My agent and I are in talks with Arsenal,” Ozcan said.
“Arsenal have been scouting me for the past two years and send representatives to watch my games.
Ozcan was born in Germany but he is of Turkish origin and plays for Turkey at youth international level.
The 19-year-old has also represented Germany’s youth teams and can play for either national side at senior level.
Arsenal star Mesut Ozil is also an ethnic Turk born in Germany but that is not where the similarities end.
Ozil was involved in promoting Ozcan back in 2016 and helped M ONE B Sportsconsulting in raising awareness of the Stuttgart youth.
The Arsenal playmaker spent time with M ONE B Sportsconsulting, taking pictures and regularly meets with the rising star.
Ozcan was quoted in 2015 as saying: “Ozil is my idol, he visits us regularly and always give his support, he has helped me a lot.”
