Arsenal went into the international break in second place after crushing Manchester United 3-0 at the Emirates.

Mesut Özil in particular had reason to celebrate after a tough few weeks with just about every critic slamming his performances the World Cup winner finally proved his critics wrong and showed that he can perform at the highest level in big games.

The 26-year-old scored his first goal of the season and provided Alexis Sanchez with an assist.

Özil was a constant menace in the final third completing 88 percent of his passes in that zone against United according to the EPLindex.

The playmakers creative ability has been praised over the past week and it also turns out that he averages the highest number of key passes in the top five leagues across Europe according to Whoscored – England, Spain, Germany, Italy, France.

Özil has averaged 4.4 key passes per-game this season which suggests that with better finishing from the Arsenal forwards his assist tally should increase significantly.
