Mesut Özil is expected to make his first Arsenal start of 2015 against Brighton in the FA Cup on Sunday according to the Daily Star.

Özil has been ruled out of action since suffering a knee injury in the 2-0 loss against Chelsea back in October.

The 26-year-old played 17 minutes in the Gunners 3-0 win over Stoke City but was left on the bench in the 2-0 win over Manchester City due to lacking match fitness.

The record £42.5 million Arsenal signing has made two assists and scored one goal in ten appearances for the North-London based club this season.

Özil provided 14 assists for the Gunners last season and has a total of 157 assists in 399 games.

The World Cup winner has an 88 percent pass completion rate and has averaged 60.6 passes per-game, only Aaron Ramsey has a better record.

Özil completed 901 passes in the final third last season and was the most valuable player per 100 passes in the Premier League.
