Ilkay Gundogan has to be one of the most prolific users of social media in the Manchester City squad.
We have been doing our best to keep up with the midfielder of Turkish origin.
It turns out Gundogan left Los Angeles for Turkey.
The 26-year-old decided to drop some deep meaningful quotes on his followers today to accompany a photo from a bench from a garden.
Gundogan wrote the following caption: “Always remember where your roots are #generations #turkey #ancestry.”
We assume the photo was taken at his family – or a relatives – home in Balikesir but the car that is clearly visible is registered to Bursa.
Gundogan was born in Germany but he is part of the Turkish community which is the largest non-German ethnic group in the country.
