Arda Turan has had a pretty good week. The Turkish international was finally registered as a Barcelona player after six-months of waiting due to the FIFA transfer ban that was in place. The bearded winger received his number 7 shirt number and made his debut that the reigning La Liga champions won 4-1 against rivals Espanyol.
Turan has also been busy making friends and establishing bonds with his new teammates including Lionel Messi.
Messi and Turan hugging each other was one of the iconic moments of the game – well as far as the Turkish press was concerned.
Turan then went onto cause a social media storm when he shared a tweet with his arms wrapped around the Messi alongside the caption: “Big and happy family @FCBarcelona.”

Barcelona beat Espanyol 4-1 but the main question being asked in Turkey after the game was what Messi whispered to Turan after scoring his stunning free-kick goal.
Turan remained silent over what was said simply claiming that it was a joke between the two.
Turan told reporters after game: “Messi whispered something in my ear but that will stay with me let’s just say we have had a little joke.”
