Arda Turan has had a lot of birthday celebrating to get through over the past week. The bearded winger turned 29 last week followed by Gerard Pique a few days later, Neymar and now Gheorghe Hagi.

Hagi turned 51 today and Turan shared a tweet in honour of the former Barcelona and Galatasaray star wishing him a happy birthday in English and Turkish.

Hagi achieved legendary status at Galatasaray during the club’s golden era in the late 90’s winning four Super League titles and helped the Lions win their first UEFA Cup title in 2000.

The Romanian star also won two Turkish Cups and the European Super Cup with the Lions.

Like Turan Hagi has played for both Galatasaray and Barcelona joining the La Liga giants in 1994 and staying for two seasons before moving to Turkey.

Turan was promoted to first team by Hagi in 2004–05 season, making his official debut against Bursaspor in the Turkish Cup.
