Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil has taken to social media to express his excitement for the Emirates Cup which begins today.
Wolfsburg take on Villarreal in the opening game while Arsenal host Olympique Lyonnais at 16:20 (GMT).
The 26-year-old posted a picture on Instagram of himself alongside Aaron Ramsey with the following caption, “Happy about returning to our Gunners living room tomorrow. Looking forward to have #Wolfsburg, #Lyon & #Villareal as our guests. Let’s all make sure the @emirates cup stays in London! #emiratescup.”
The World Cup winner has had a busy summer during which time he has toured three continents – America, Europe and Asia. Özil started his summer vacation in Germany before traveling to Los Angeles and then to Singapore for the Barclays Asia Cup.
Özil was part of the team that won the friendly cup beating Everton 3-1 in the final at the Singapore stadium.
The World Cup winner provided nine assists and five goals in 32 appearances for Arsenal in all competitions last season.
