Liverpool midfielder Emre Can has taken to social media to thank Bastian Schweinsteiger for his serviced to the Germany national team.

Schweinsteiger bid farewell to international football earlier this week and the Germany national team. The experinced midfielder was left in tears as he plays his final international game for his nation.

The 22-year-old Liverpool star uploaded an image to Instagram along with the caption, “Thank you. Captain. Legend.”

Can was ruled out of Liverpool’s 1-1 draw with Tottenham over the weekend after suffering an ankle injury during the week.

The combative midfielder has managed just 45 minutes of football this season following an extended summer break after Euro 2016.
