Manchester City take on Real Madrid in the International Championship Cup in Los Angeles, USA tonight.
City midfielder of Turkish origin Ilkay Gundogan has not played a competitive game since 2016 after injuring his knee in December.
Gundogan has however, returned to team training and shared a picture today on Instagram at the gym.
Gundogan has been hinting he is ready for a return as he is back to training.
The City star keeps sharing pictures of himself working out on social media.
In fact he was on the bench in the last friendly against Manchester United but did not get to start.
It remains to be seen whether Pep Guardiola will give him playing time against the Spanish giants tonight.
One of Gundogan’s most memorable performances for City was actually against Real’s rivals Barcelona.
Gundogan scored a brace in City’s 3-1 win over Barcelona in the Champions League group stages last season.
