Man City star playmaker Ilkay Gundogan has wished farewell to New York City as he returns to his club to continue recovery.

The 26-year-old took the opportunity to praise the Big Apple for being multicultural and being a place which accepts people from all backgrounds and religions.

Gundogan spent a week in New York along with his fellow City teammates Gabriel Jesus.

The duo have been sidelined due to injuries. Gundogan is unlikely to feature again his season after suffering a knee injury back in December.
